Hatin'
That's right today I'm being a "hater". Normally, I'm a fun loving person. So much so that my hubby calls me a "Hippie"-and that's ok... I really love tie dye clothes, incense, and the city of Austin. Hey, I've even been known to flash the peace sign at the gang members hanging around the square. But not today.
Today I'm hating the egg sucking hound running around this place. If the only egg he stole were one of my chicken eggs, the only catastrophe might have been not having enough eggs to make a cake this week end. But no- that greedy bastard didn't stop there. The entire nest of duck eggs-all eighteen eggs-are history. Warmer weather is predicted this week and the ducks might have started to sit. Hubster says that the eggs probably wouldn't all hatch due to the cold weather, but if even half had hatched-they would have made some cute little additions to the farm. Can you just imagine nine little ducklings following their mom? I guess you really can't count your eggs before they hatch, but I'm still pissed at the dog.

Marty's Party...
A little over a week ago Marty told me she was ready to go home-and not to the house... and gone home she has..I wasn't ready to say good bye then, and not now but it's been taken out of my hands. I try to tell myself that she's with her husband and that she wanted to leave, but the selfish part of me wants to hear her laugh and the way her voice sometimes cracked when she said my name. I want to share just one more glass of wine with her and listen to her tell a dirty joke. She was a very wise woman and she said that there would be a big party and that I would have a good time-she hoped everyone would. A part of me hopes that maybe she was talking about her funeral. I know she would have wanted a celebration of her life and no tears, but that's asking a lot. She made the world a better place-she made me a better person and it's hard to let go...every time I share a glass of wine with my mom or my daughters or someone I love-she will come to mind. Everytime I see someone profess their love of strawberries or chocalate-I'll remember her. Every time I see a lady in a red skirt or an older person at an atm-I'll think of her. She called me one day to tell me about those atm thingies-you could only withdrawl three hundred a day-and it didn't matter how many different ones that you drove too-three hundred was all you were gonna get. I laughed so hard thinking of her driving around town to find this out. It was even funnier when you considered that she didn't know how to pump gas. Driving over 60 years, and she never learned to pump gas. As much as I'll miss her, I know she's in heaven.

Lauren's 21st
Happy 21st Birthday Lauren!!! A part of me can't believe that 21 years have already gone by-but it's taken some time to become the woman you are today. It's so strange to see your baby as an adult. When you were three you wanted to be a tiger when you grew up-no amount of explaining could change your mind-and sometimes I have to really hide my laughter when you're mad because you have become that tiger without the stripes. The power and claws are there. So is the determination and strength. I know that you are opinionated and stubborn-but I also take great comfort in knowing that you will always do what you think is right. Which is really, really important now that you and your friends can drink. I look forward to seeing what else you do with your life. I love you and a I am very proud of you.

It wasn't me...
Cops: Man goes beserk with ax at Dunkin’ Donuts but this is what will happen if I don't get something really sweet before long.

A little bit windy
The weather up here is a little windy. I was leaving Wally world with my beloved bananas (only got three) and they were in a sack by themselves. The wind swooped down and caught the bag and my bananas went flying. Of course, the first words out of my mouth were "holy crap flying bananas!". The little old man with the walker laughed so hard watching me chase them down he almost fell too. Glad he had something to hold on to. So glad to amuse...
