The Day exterminating co

Meet the day exterminating company-other wise know as Huey, Duey, Lonesome(in black) and Afflac. They are not near the pond-where ducks should be. They aren't near the clothes line-where they like to shit nor are they near the feed house-a favorite hangout. They are eating bugs in the driveway. They eat all the bugs and most of my sanity.

Deer Season 2012

What it's not Deer Season yet? Don't kid yourself. Bow season starts in 21 days. That means blinds are up. Birthday Bow will be here in time to play with it and the men around here are talking about bucks. Bucks and more bucks. There are plenty of doe too. Too many in fact.

Bridal Expo

So today I'm headed to the Rock to pick up the "engaged" daughter and do some heavy duty wedding planning. There's a Bridal Expo and we're going. Hopefully, to get some normal ideas and network like crazy.
I know we've got a little over a year to get things done, but sometimes it takes a while to get just what you want.
We've got her dress-and the venue-and her cake topper. I don't think she's decided on invitations just yet-she/he have their guest lists-but no decision on the invitations. They have picked out "Save the Dates"-something we didn't do back in the dinosaur ages.
I'm hoping to order the garter. Pick out a florist. Interview photographers and go over menu options. Wish us luck.

The bathroom contiuned

I already mentioned we're replacing the vanity, sink, toilet, and  perfectly good tub Since we were taking out the vanity, the wall behind the vanity was discolored and you can't find that kind of panelling anymore(circa 1970s) so the wall half way up has been torn out. Gone.
Behind the sink on the vanity was an outlet-that's right directly behind the sink-so it's getting moved to a safer location with a new plug in-one that shuts off in case of emergency-and I've been told that means one more day of labor i.e. one more shower in the RV.
That's not what I'm worried about really. Since the toilet, tub and vanity were taken out-hubster decided the floor needed an update too. So tile it is. In an old house with no perfectly square walls. After the tub incident, I'm almost glad to go to work, but I worry what he will do in my absence. The man has power tools and is not afraid to use them.

The Bathroom Part I

One day, I mentioned that I would like to replace the bathroom sink-it was avacado green and had a spot that showed some severe rusting. As long as the sink was going, I mentioned that the toilet needed to go too-same avacado green-and it never mattered what I cleaned it with-I could never quite get it clean. It would smell clean, but wouldn't look it.
I thought I was doing something good-I bought a water saver toilett that I liked and a brushed silver facet to go with the new sink that I haven't found yet.
Then the hubster got in the remodel mode-if we were going to get a new sink might as well get a new vanity-ok, so I'm with him on that one. And somewhere it is written that the toilett must match the tub-so the avacado green tub went bye-bye too. Nothing wrong with that tub-it just wouldn't match the white toilett.
So we made several trips to Home Depot and found the tub we both liked-and asked for help from the friendly people there to find the correct drains for the tub we had picked out-they gave us the wrong size.
I wished that were were the woes ended but oh no.The house is old and settled and nothing is perfectly square-I can honestly say Hubby worked 16 hours to install the tub, but it is installed. No plumbing yet, but that sob is in the little slot where it's supposed to go. It's a nice looking tub, but I'm taking a shower in the RV until the bathroom is done(this is my punishment for wanting to remodel something I'm sure).
