I lost it

Visiting Colorado and so many places that I saw with Dwight took me down memory lane. So many damn good memories.  At one point, we were at the pull off across from Hays Creek Falls and I watched Parker throw rocks into the water. He was standing in the exact same spot where his Poppy had fished eight years ago. Eight years ago. A lifetime away. Where cancer was something we read about and dreams for our future were real and possible.  I had to walk away. The pain was just too much. Sometimes I just hate living without him. I know this is a road that I have to travel and he'll be waiting to welcome me. I know I'm needed here. I know that I am loved and he was too, but this learning to live again is hard.

Adventures in Retirement

I'm  in Colorado with Paige, Paul, Pruitt,  and Parker. We've visited the Denver Aquarium,  Garden of the God's, the Castle, and took the Royal Gorge Train. We ate lunch across from an rv park where Dwight and I once stayed. I laughed thinking about that trip. Juliet 's daughter was just a baby and she turned sixteen this week. The train ride was beautiful.  It was snowing heavily.  We went under the Royal Gorge Bridge and I saw so many places that Dwight and I had been.
