Recipe time

It occurred to me that I haven't posted a recipe in quite a while-I've been a little busy and I'll assume you are too so I'll spare you the recipe for sausage stuffed banana peppers (very good, but a pain in the keester to stuff those things). Here's a much easier recipe for the four legged kids in your house.

Sweet Potato Chewies
Preheat oven to 250.
Slice a sweet potato or two into one-quarter inch slices. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Put potatoes on sheet and bake for three hours turning at the half way mark.

There you have it-nice, easy nutritious dog treats.

"Day" dreaming

So I'm working eight days straight, so I'm dreaming of my last days off. I went to Austin, TX and I got to spend some time with my sisters. Hopper read us a story. Rowan bounced with me till I could bounce no more. But my most absolute favorite part of the trip-was having one of them grab my hand to hold and the other climbing in bed just to snuggle.

How We Roll

I know I'm a little late in posting these pictures, but back in March,  Beth and Jody attended Marshall's Chocolate Roll festival with me. We all ate enough Chocolate rolls to become slightly ill, saw lots of art, some crafts, some classic cars, and then Beth and I took a class to learn how to make our own Chocolate Rolls.

A special thanks to Jody for documenting our adventure.

TBT biker style

Some times when I take pictures from the back of the bike, they don't turn out as I would like for them too. Sometimes they're too blurry for some reason. A couple of months back, Dwight took me across this bridge which has the distinction of being the only suspension bridge in use in Arkansas.

Twin Falls part two...the rest of the story

There is a very nice trail to the top of Twin Falls. It veers to the right and winds a little bit but it's a nice easy walk. It even takes you by some nice bluffs and pretty rock formations, but for those a little bit more adventurous or of the mountain goat persuasion there is "the short cut". You simply climb straight up a muddy hill side at pretty much at 70 degree angle. Coming down there is no climbing, you simply slide and hope you don't hit anything at a great rate of speed. We had finished playing and decided to come back down the path, but Dixie and Oscar had other plans. They decided to take the short cut. A few seconds after they started down, I called them back but it was too late-they couldn't come back up and someone had to go get them. The first picture are the dogs trying to get back to the path:
The second is me going to get them:

The third-well not all of the short cut trip was made in the vertical position, but the dogs were safe and sound.
